World’s oldest Panda in captivity dies at age 38

World’s oldest Panda in captivity has died at the age of 38 after multiple organ failure.

Xin Xing or New Star was more than 130 human years, informed Chongqing zoo in South-Western China.

Xin Xing had 36 cubs on her own and has seen 156 descendants.

The death of Xin Xing was announced through social media. The zoo said that Xin Xing began to experience multiple troubles including bloating, oversleeping, coughing and other age related issues. Despite Zoo’s best efforts to save the “Hero Mother”, she has died, announced the zoo.

Only one other Panda in captivity has lived as long as Xin Xing did.

Jia Jia, a female Panda was 38 years when she was put down to prevent her from further suffering.
