23YO shot dead by brothers for marrying dalit man

Mainpuri district, Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking incident, 23-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her brothers after she eloped and married a Dalit man against the wishes of her family.

Chandni Kashyap who was in a relationship with a dalit man named Arjun for eight years eloped to Delhi and got married in this June.

After a few months of marriage, her brothers contacted her and made her come to the native. Kashyap then was allegedly shot dead by her brothers and was buried with the knowledge of the family.

Her husband Arjun spoke to her on November 20 where she told him that her family assaulted her and didn’t want her to leave to Delhi. The line got cut during the call and her line was not reachable since then.

Arjun along with his family members then went to the district to inquire about his wife but her family told him that she left to Delhi alone.

Confused by their answer, Arjun filed a complaint. After a brief search, Police found out Chandni’s body and one of her brother confessed to the crime. The police are still searching the other two brothers who was involved in the murder.
