Ash Barty wins Wimbledon 2021

The top-seed Ashleigh Barty has defeated former world number one Karolina Pliskova in the women’s singles final of this year’s Wimbledon Championships in three sets.

Barty looked comfortable right from the start as she went on to win 12 points in a row and so on, made it to 4-0. Pliskova, who was a bit nervous, came back stronger in the last few games of the first set, but Barty was too good to take it, 6-3.

Barty wasn’t playing up to her mark in the second, and Pliskova took advantage of the same. She took the second set to the tiebreak which she had managed to win with ease.

In the deciding set, Barty found her rhythm back, had managed to get more winners than errors, something she couldn’t do in the 2nd set. Pliskova, despite, putting on a show, couldn’t get past the world number one who seemed to have answers for everything that Pliskova threw at her.

In the end, she won the match by 6-3. This is Barty’s second Grand Slam title after her famous French Open title in 2019.
