BCCI proposes six-team women’s IPL from 2023

In the Apex meeting on Friday, the IPL Governing Council has proposed a full-fledged women’s IPL tournament involving both Indian and overseas players. The tournament is likely to begin in 2023.

During the meeting, the board also confirmed that the priority will be given to the existing IPL franchises.

In 2022, there will be a normal Women’s T20 Challenge with three teams fighting in four matches. All the matches are likely to take play at the end of May, during the playoffs.
