DC vs KKR – Iyer leads from front as DC win by 18 runs

It’s Sharjah and you know what to expect. The template was already there and DC drove on it very well.

Batting first, the team began well with Shaw and Dhawan adding 56 for the first wicket but when Dhawan got out, Iyer went berserk.

Shaw scored 66 from 41 and led the way to Pant to join his captain.

Iyer smashed 7 fours and 6 sixes to reach an unbeaten 88 from just 38 deliveries and took the team to 228 in their 20 overs.

In return, KKR’s plan to open with Narine once again failed and they lost Gill for just 28. While the wickets tumbled at one end, Rana played well for his 58 from 35.

Morgan and Tripathi joined hands when the run-rate needed was more than 18. They took on Stoinis, even Rabada and brought it down to 15 runs per over.

Unfortunately, Morgan got out at the wrong time after scoring 44 from just 18. With 26 needed from the last over, Tripathi fell as well and the team lost by 18 runs.
