ENG vs IND: Here’s why the Indian team are wearing a black armband

India and England lock horns for the 4th Test starting from 2nd September at the Oval.

England’s Joe Root had won the toss and had opted to bowl first.

The Indian cricket team was seen wearing a black armband for the game.

They sported armbands in order to honor the demise of the legend Vasudev Paranjape.

While his cricket career saw only 29 appearances for Mumbai from 1956 to 1970, he was one of the go-to coaches for everyone in the Indian cricket team.

From Sunil Gavaskar to Sachin Tendulkar to Rohit Sharma, everyone has benefitted from his advice.

Gavaskar was given the nickname Sunny by him.

He was 82 when he passed away recently. He was survived by his wife Lalita, daughter Radhika Shah, son Jatin.
