India to tour to England in August

Indian women’s team will be playing a tri-series in England. South Africa will be the other team. The series will be taking place in the bio-bubble environment due to coronavirus pandemic.

It is reported that India will be travelling to England by the end of August and the tournament will begin by September 10. The team will be going through self-isolation period.

Before the tour, BCCI will have to appoint the selection panel for the women’s cricket. The officials headed by Hemlata Kala have completed their tenure and for more than three months, the board has no officials. Due to the pandemic, the interview process is yet to happen.

In the beginning of the year, BCCI accepted candidates for the position, however, the interview did not go ahead due to lockdown.

Once the Government gives the permission, the process will begin.

Talking about the tour, India was first planned to play against South Africa and then England. Once again, due to the pandemic, the tri-series will be happening. ECB Chief executive Tom Harrison also hinted about the tour in BBC podcast in June.
