IPL 2020- MI v KKR: Rohit stars as MI defeat KKR by 49 runs

After losing their first match to Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians have done well to bounce back and win their first match of IPL 2020.

They took on Kolkata Knight Riders who played their first match of the competition today.

KKR began well by dismissing Quinton de Kock early after calling it right at the toss. However, Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma began to take on bowlers and added a brilliant partnership. After Yadav’s dismissal, Saurabh Tiwary played a good hand for Rohit who got to his first fifty of IPL 2020.

The spinners then brought KKR back to the team and MI fell a few runs short of 200. Something they should have got with ease.

In return, Boult and Pattinson began well for MI and other bowlers, especially Bumrah, capitalized on the same. KKR batters found it difficult to clear the fence and found fielders everytime. The run-rate that kept ticking added more pressure on them. In the end, the team needed 100 from five overs. A cameo from Cummins, which saw four sixes off Bumrah, took them a bit closer and they fell 49 runs short.
