IPL Retention- Rajasthan Royals set to release Steve Smith

According to ESPN, Rajasthan Royals have decided to let go of their skipper Steve Smith.

Smith didn’t make much impact in the season despite playing all the matches, scoring only 311 runs at a strike rate of 131, including three half-centuries.

In IPL 2020, Rajasthan ended at the bottom of the table and it’s one of the reasons for this release.

The team now will have a new captain and Ben Stokes is likely to take up the role.
