Canterbury Magicians pulls off yet another victory and this time against Auckland Hearts.
Auckland did put up a good fight but it wasn’t just enough for Canterbury, who won the game by six wickets.
Batting first, Saachi Shahri brought her first half-century of the season and ended with 68 off 55 deliveries. She had a good partnership with Bella Armstrong. The latter stood unbeaten on 33 off 25 deliveries. Hearts reached 144/4 in their 20 overs.
Lea Tahuhu and Gabby Sullivan picked up a wicket each.
Chasing a modest total, Canterbury lost Kate Anderson early. Nat Cox followed as well. Amy Satterthwaite turned things around for her team by scoring an unbeaten 46-ball 50. She had the support of Izzy Sharp who made 17.
Though the Hearts lost the match, almost all their bowlers returned economically. Arlene Kelly was the pick of the bowlers as she ended with 1/17.
With that win, Canterbury moved to the top of the table. Amy Satterthwaite won the player of the match once again for her match-winning half-century. Talking about the game, the stand-in skipper said that she was glad about the overall performance.
