MS Dhoni reason behind Rohit’s success: Gambhir

Former cricketer and Delhi-East Member of Parliament Gautam Gambhir said that MS Dhoni deserves credit for the exuberant rise of Rohit Sharma as a batsman.

Rohit’s career wasn’t great until 2013 when he was batting in the middle-order. It was MS Dhoni, the then Indian captain, who promoted him to open the batting in One Day Internationals. Since then, Rohit has been the best opening batsman in ODIs and hasn’t looked back.

Speaking to Vikrant Gupta in an Instagram live session, Gautam Gambhir said, “Where Rohit Sharma is today, it is because of MS Dhoni.”

The former cricketer har tweeted “Happy Birthday to the best white-ball cricketer in the world” on Rohit Sharma’s birthday and it created a lot of ruckus on social media in comparison with the current Indian captain Virat Kohli.
