Twitteratti find Indian Government official account on TikTok

Amidst the social media campaign to ban TikTok, Twitterati finds the official account of Government of India on the Chinese platform.

Due to various reasons including border tension and Coronavirus, #BanTikTOk has been trending for a while on social media, especially in India.

Soon, they realised that the government of India has an official account on TikTok with a verified blue tick. The bio description says that it is a citizen engagement platform of the government of India.

The account has 909.1k followers and 6.5 million likes. Most of the content in the account comprises of yoga, Coronavirus and the government’s achievements.

This happened after TikTok’s Google play ratings went for a toss after people across the globe, and especially Indians, rated the app poorly due to the anti-China sentiments.
