COVID19: TN reports 48 new cases

Tamil Nadu health secretary, on Wednesday, said that the state has reported 48 new cases within the last 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 738.  More than 60,000 people are currently in quarantine in the state.

The death toll now stands at 8 and the number of people discharged is now at 21 including a 71-year-old man and 10-month-old baby boy.

The numbers are expected to rise in upcoming weeks and the lock down might see an extension.

PM Modi to take a call soon after holding a call with the Chief Minister of different states.

Meanwhile, the number of deaths in India has crossed over 150 with more than 5000 people tested positive for the virus.
