India squad for World Cup 2022 announced, Jemimah misses out

Team India’s squad for the upcoming New Zealand and the World Cup 2022 was announced by BCCI today.

Mithali Raj will lead the ODI squad and Harmanpreet Kaur will be her deputy.

The team features both the keepers Taniya Bhatia and Richa Ghosh. Jhulan Goswami will lead the pace attack in the ODI team while Meghna Singh, Renuka Singh Thakur and Pooja Vastrakar are the other three pacers.

In the spin department, Rajeshwari and Poonam will lead the way along with all-rounders Sneh Rana and Deepti Sharma.

Mithali Raj (C), Harmanpreet Kaur (VC), Smriti, Shafali, Yastika, Deepti, Richa Ghosh (WK), Sneh Rana, Jhulan, Pooja, Meghna Singh, Renuka Singh Thakur, Taniya (WK), Rajeshwari, Poonam.

S Meghna, who had an excellent domestic season, has been named in the stand-by players for the World Cup along with Simran Dil Bahadur and Ekta Bisht.

S Meghna, however, has returned to the India Squad for the New Zealand T20Is.

Shikha Pandey and Jemimah Rodrigues are the two big names to miss out.
