Richa Ghosh becomes 7th Indian to join WBBL 07

Richa Ghosh today became the seventh Indian to join Women’s Big Bash League after being signed by Hobart Hurricanes.

This will be Ghosh‘s debut season in WBBL and she will be joined by Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma (Sydney Thunder), Shafali Verma and Radha Yadav (Sydney Sixers), and Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur (Melbourne Renegades) to feature in this year’s tournament.

She will replace Lizelle Lee in the squad who has recently withdrawn from the tournament.

In the official statement on the Hobart Hurricanes website, Ghosh had said that she is very excited to play the WBBL this year.

“I’m very excited to be playing in the WBBL this year,” she said.

“I’m very thankful to the Hurricanes for this opportunity, and I’m looking forward to coming to Tasmania and meeting up with my new teammates,” she added.
