Breaking: Dane Van Niekerk ruled out of World Cup 2022

South African skipper Dane Van Niekerk has been ruled out of the upcoming Women’s World Cup.

Niekerk picked up an ankle injury after a fall at home due to wet floor. According to the report in Cricket South Africa, she will be ruled out for three months and is out of the upcoming West Indies series as well as the World Cup.

South Africa will return to international cricket from this January where they will take on West Indies.

The team will meet in four-match one-day series before starting to New Zealand for the World Cup.

The Board had announced the training squad on Thursday. The team will undergo 10-day training camp and will meet in an unofficial warm-up match before the 4-match One-day series.
