Chennai Super Kings ended the IPL 2021 as champions. As the tournament ended, that was probably the last team one had seen the whole bunch together as we head to mega auction before next edition.
The mega auction did make the fans and other officials separated as nobody knows whom the team is going to retain. While a lot of people wants MS Dhoni to be retained, his form with the bat is a concern. He, certainly, not the same Dhoni he used to be even though he did show a glimpse of form this year during play offs. Also, nobody knows about his availability for the upcoming edition of the IPL. While there is so much uncertainty regarding the future, N Srinivasan recently revealed that there is no CSK without Dhoni.
According to PTI, The managing director as well as vice-chairman of India Cements had told that Dhoni is a part and parcel of CSK.
“Dhoni is part and parcel of CSK, Chennai and Tamil Nadu. There is no CSK without Dhoni and there is no Dhoni without CSK,” was quoted as saying by PTI on Monday.
Dhoni shares unique relationship with Chennai and its fans. He has been a part of CSK since the first season. When the franchise was banned for a couple of years, he was a part of Rising Pune Supergiants before coming back to Chennai Super Kings.
The team had made it to the playoffs in every single season except for 2020. In that season, the team had finished seventh.
However, they came back stronger in the next edition, became the first team to qualify for the play-offs in IPL 2022 and then went on to win the cup for the 4th time.
