India take 1-0 lead against the hosts South Africa at Centurion, thanks to bowlers.
India got to a good start to the Test with Rahul and Mayank Agarwal adding 117 runs for the first wicket. Agarwal was the first to go for 60. Rahul continued his attack, made 123 runs.
Soon, South African pacers broke Indian defense and Lungi Ngidi ended with six wickets. India got out for 327.
In return, Shami led Indian pace attack which ran through the batting order of the hosts. He returned with 5 wickets and got to his 200th Test wicket as well.
South Africa managed only 197. Bavuma top scored with 52.
India then got out for just 174 in their second innings with Rabada and Jansen picking 4 wickets each.
Chasing 305 for the win, South Africa struggled once again against the Indian pacers. Dean Elgar showed some resistance, score 77 but it wasn’t enough as the team got out for 191. For India, Bumrah and Shami had three wickets each.
