India have announced the squad for the upcoming series against West Indies.
The 18-member squad was announced on Wednesday. Kuldeep Yadav, who had played for India in 2021, is back into the squad while Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami have been rested for the series. This will be the first series for Rohit Sharma as the permanent captain of Team India. Rohit, who was named the captain of the Indian team after Virat’s decision to step down, was ruled out of South Africa tour due to injury.
He is back into the team and will lead India. KL Rahul will be his deputy. Deepak Hooda makes it to the ODI squad while Ravi Bishnoi has been selected for both ODI and T20I squad.
Avesh Khan makes it to both sides as well while Harshal Patel gets a T20I call up.
Washington Sundar, who was out of South Africa series due to COVID19 positive, is back for the series. KL Rahul will miss the first ODI and will be back from the 2nd match.
On the other hand, Axar Patel will miss the ODI series. Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the series due to recovery from knee injury.
